Rosh Hanikra (Israel)

Rosh Hanikra grottoes in my opinion may be one of the most beautiful places to visit in Israel! Only a 10 minute drive from Nahariya and in close proximity of the Achziv National Park you will find the picturesque Rosh Hanikra.

Just before you reach the cable cars and head down to the grottoes you can enjoy this spectacular view of the Mediterranean
View from the top

Reaching the caves from the top can only be done by cable car, even though it was probably one of the steepest cable car rides I have ever been on, the ride felt very safe and secure and was over in about two minutes. If you are brave enough to look out the windows the view is spectacular.

A short walk at the bottom reveals the grottos which are actually marine caves.

The grottos were created following a series of tremors which cracked the rock causing rainwater to flow through these cracks and ultimately creating this natural phenomenon.

Once inside the caves you can feel incredible vibrations and get to experience the gorgeous turquoise water crashing against the walls and flowing through small holes in the cave.

The walk through the caves were slippery but incredible.

Just before the end of the grottos you can enjoy the spectacular views of the white cliffs, the turquoise sea, fresh breeze and take a moment to appreciate the view.

Once you are done exploring the cave, you can end your day off by either renting a bicycle or a golf cart and take a scenic drive on along the coastline.
